Mineral water on cars. Desert Hot Springs is named for the natural hot mineral water found beneath the city. Many homes are on well water with a high mineral content. If you wash your car at home, you're leaving behind mineral deposits that can stain glass, paint, and chrome. Use deionized rinse water or wash at a coin-op with treated water.

How far is Desert Hot Springs from your shop?
About 65 miles from Hemet via I-10, roughly an hour and fifteen minutes. Desert Hot Springs is on our Coachella Valley route with Palm Springs and the towns around it.
Can you work in high winds?
For most repairs, yes. We do brakes, oil changes, and most diagnostics in any weather. For things that involve open hoods full of sand-blowing wind, like air filter changes or open AC systems, we'll either pick a calmer time of day or work in your garage if you have one.
My battery is two years old. Should I just replace it before summer?
Test it first. If it's still putting out full cranking amps, keep using it. If it tests weak, replace it before May. We bring a load tester and can give you a yes or no in under five minutes.
Do you cover Sky Valley and the Mission Lakes area?
Yes. Sky Valley, Mission Lakes Country Club, and the homes up Indian Avenue toward I-10 are all in our zone.
My AC works fine when I'm moving but blows hot at stoplights. Why?
Probably a failing radiator fan or condenser fan. Air rushing through the front while you drive cools the AC condenser. When you stop, the fan has to do all the work, and if it's weak, the AC loses its cooling. We can test fan operation on-site and replace the fan or fan motor if that's the cause.
How fast can you get here in summer?
Dead AC, a dead battery or an overheating engine is usually a same-day visit if you call before noon. Those calls go to the front of the line. Sitting through 115-degree weather without AC is dangerous.
