The Valley of the Sun
Phoenix is the biggest city we serve, and it's roughly 350 miles from our San Jacinto shop. That's why you need to call and confirm first. We only make the trip for jobs big enough to be worth it, and we say so to everyone who calls. If a local Phoenix shop could handle your repair in an hour, we'll tell you to go there. If it's an engine, a transmission or a major repair that local shops have struggled with, we may be the right call.
Because the trip is planned, we talk the problem through with you on the phone first. We've done a lot of repairs in desert heat, and we don't drive 350 miles to start guessing.
Phoenix Heat and Vehicle Damage
Few big cities in the country get hotter. Summer highs stay above 110 degrees for weeks, and parking lot pavement can pass 160. Engine oil thins out and burns off faster. Automatic transmission fluid loses its protective additives. Belts, hoses and seals dry out and crack years sooner than they would somewhere mild, and a battery in Phoenix lasts 2 to 3 years instead of the usual 4 to 5.
When we do cooling system service on a Phoenix car, we pressure test the radiator, check the fan and fan clutch, inspect the water pump and flush the coolant. How far is Phoenix from your shop?
Phoenix is about 350 miles east of our San Jacinto shop. The drive takes around 5 hours and 30 minutes via I-10 East. Because of the distance, we schedule Phoenix visits for major jobs and group multiple appointments along the I-10 corridor when possible.
What kinds of jobs are worth a Supercanic Phoenix visit?

My car drove through monsoon flooding. What should I check?
Have someone inspect the air filter for water residue, the transmission fluid for milky discoloration, all electrical connectors under the dash and inside doors, and the engine oil for water contamination. Monsoon flood damage often shows up months later as transmission slipping or random electrical issues, so an inspection now can save a major repair later.
Why does my car battery die so fast in Phoenix?
Phoenix heat shortens battery life dramatically. The chemical reactions inside a battery speed up at high temperatures, which means the internal components break down faster. Most Phoenix drivers replace batteries every 2 to 3 years instead of 4 to 5. Buying a higher-rated battery and parking in shade or a garage helps extend life.
