Diesel Repair by the Numbers
California holds diesel trucks to strict rules. Under the CARB Truck and Bus Regulation, diesel trucks and buses over 14,000 pounds must meet particulate filter rules and run a 2010 or newer engine. The EPA says a diesel particulate filter can cut particulate emissions by more than 85 percent, so a clogged filter needs a real diagnosis.
