Mobile Mechanic in Canyon Lake
We come through the gate and fix the car in your driveway. Alternators and brakes are regular jobs here, and so is figuring out why a car that sat all month won't start.
Inside the Gates
The nearest shops are outside the gates. We drive in so you don't have to drive out.
Alternators
We test the charging system first. If the alternator is bad, we swap it at your house.
Brake Service
Pads, rotors, calipers and brake fluid. Tow rigs go through these faster.
Diagnostics
We read the codes in your driveway and test before we replace anything.
General Repair
Water pumps, belts, hoses, sensors and routine maintenance.
A Gated Town Built Around the Water
Canyon Lake is one of the few cities in California that is fully behind a gate. About 11,000 people live here, the lake is private, and the streets all loop around the water. That setup changes how cars here wear out.
You probably tow. Most Canyon Lake households own at least one boat, jet ski, or wave runner. Pulling a 3,000-pound boat up your driveway and back is rough on a half-ton truck or SUV. Transmissions, rear differentials, and trailer brakes need more attention than the owner's manual suggests.
Your daily car probably has low miles. A lot of Canyon Lake residents are retired or work from home. Cars often sit in the garage for days at a time. Low-mileage cars have their own problems: dry seals, dead batteries, brake rotors that rust to pads, and gummed-up fuel injectors. The "10,000 miles a year" service interval doesn't really protect a car that only drove 3,000 miles in the same year.
Golf carts are part of life. The community is golf-cart friendly. We can work on golf carts too. Batteries, brakes and basic electrical problems are fine, but most of our work is cars and trucks.
Why Mobile Service Matters Inside the Gates
Getting a tow truck inside the gates takes extra time. Some shops charge extra to enter. And the closest repair options are 5 to 10 minutes outside the gates in Lake Elsinore or Menifee, but you still need a ride home and a ride back.
When you book, you put us on the visitor list at the gate house. David or Raul drives in, parks at your place and does the work. You don't need a ride, and there's no towing fee.
Tow Vehicle Tune-Up
If you tow a boat to the lake, run this list once a year.
- Transmission fluid color and level. Burned fluid is a warning
- Trailer wiring continuity check (especially after off-season storage)
- Trailer wheel bearings. They fail more often than people think
- Tow vehicle hitch torque and ball wear
- Rear brake check on the tow vehicle
- Coolant condition (towing in summer heat is hard on radiators)
We can get through the whole list in about 90 minutes, in one visit.
Other Work We Do Here
In Canyon Lake we also do engine repair, brake service, transmissions, cooling systems, electrical, oil changes, diagnostics, and roadside assistance.
Common Questions
How far is Canyon Lake from your shop?
About 10 miles. The drive from Hemet takes 15 to 20 minutes via Newport Road or Goetz Road. We come to Canyon Lake several times a week, so scheduling is usually easy.
How does your mechanic get past the gate?
When you book, add "Supercanic" to your visitor list at the main gate. We'll tell you whether David or Raul is coming so you can add the name too, and the gate house will let them in on the day of the appointment. We'll confirm the time the day before.
My car only has 4,000 miles on it but it's two years old. Does it still need an oil change?
Yes. Oil ages even when you don't drive. Most manufacturers say change every 12 months regardless of miles. For low-mileage Canyon Lake drivers, an annual oil change is more important than the mileage interval.
Can you service my boat trailer along with my truck?
Yes, in many cases. We do trailer wiring, brake actuators, wheel bearings, and lights. We don't pull outboard motors or do major boat-engine work. That's a job for a marine shop.
Do you cover Canyon Hills and Menifee Lakes?
Both are right outside the gates. See our Lake Elsinore page for Canyon Hills and the Menifee/Sun City pages for Menifee Lakes.
My car has been sitting since last summer. Will it start?
Maybe, maybe not. Old gas, dead battery, and stuck brakes are the three usual reasons a sitting car won't go. We carry a jump pack, fresh fuel and the tools to free up stuck brakes. Most "won't start after sitting" cars are running again in under an hour.
David and Raul
Most Canyon Lake jobs go to David or Raul. Alternator swaps and full brake jobs get done right there in the driveway.
- Alternator & charging system repair
- Complete brake service
- Diagnostic code scanning
- Belt & hose replacements
