If yours started slipping or shifting hard, the cause is usually heat damage from years of commuting.
It eats brakes. The 91 commute means thousands of light brake applications every week. Front pads on Corona commuter cars typically need replacement at 25,000 to 35,000 miles, compared to 50,000 to 70,000 for highway-only drivers.
It loads up your engine with carbon. Lots of low-RPM, low-load driving lets carbon and fuel deposits build up in the intake and on intake valves. After 60,000 to 80,000 miles of pure commuting, many engines develop a stumble, hesitation, or check-engine light from these deposits.

A throttle body and intake cleaning around 60,000 miles. Fixes most carbon-related driveability issues without expensive intake removal.
Engine air filter every 20,000 miles. Sitting in dusty traffic clogs filters faster than highway driving does.

How far is Corona from your shop?
Corona is about 32 miles from our San Jacinto shop. The drive takes 35 to 45 minutes via I-15 and the 215. Corona, Eastvale and Jurupa Valley are all on one regular route.
My transmission is shifting hard. Is it done?
Maybe, maybe not. Hard shifting can be old fluid, a worn solenoid, low fluid level, or, in worst case, internal damage. We check the fluid level and condition and scan for trouble codes. Then you know what's wrong before you spend money on a rebuild.
