About Our Norco Services

Built for Horse Town USA

Norco calls itself "Horse Town USA," and the city has kept it that way on purpose. Horse trails run next to the pavement. Neighborhoods are zoned for livestock, dirt roads link one property to the next, and most homes have an arena out back. Cars and trucks here get used harder than they would in a typical suburb.

Most days in Norco mean tow rigs, dusty work trucks and trailers that are always going somewhere. We park in ranch driveways, next to barns and on equestrian property around Silver Lakes. Raul and David load the truck for that kind of work before they head out.

Tow Vehicles, Trailers, and Horse Hauling

Most Norco households have at least one tow rig. We see three-quarter-ton trucks pulling horse trailers, four-horse goosenecks on the way to Silver Lakes or a show, and dual-rear-wheel diesels hauling hay home from the feed store. A truck that tows works harder than one that doesn't. It needs cooling system service that includes the bigger radiator and the transmission cooler. It needs transmission service with fluid changes timed for towing, and brake jobs with heavier-duty pads and rotors.

We also check horse trailers at your place, including the bearings, brakes and lights. Losing a bearing on the way to a show is about the worst thing that can happen, and servicing them every two to three years costs very little.

Dust, Dirt Roads, and Air Filters

The residential streets are mostly paved. Dirt roads, gravel driveways and barn lanes are everywhere anyway. Fine dust gets pulled into the engine intake and the cabin filter, and a Norco air filter can clog at half the miles it would last somewhere cleaner. We check both filters at every oil change and keep common sizes on the truck so we can swap them on the spot.

Dust wears out wheel bearings, ball joints and CV boots early too. Call us if you hear clicking in turns or a hum that gets louder with speed. Our suspension service covers ball joints, tie rods, control arms and shocks, done at your property.

Silver Lakes and Equestrian Property Service

Silver Lakes is the center of horse life in Norco, with the equestrian center, the riding trails and the properties around them. A lot of people there have us come out to the barn or arena to work on trucks and trailers. Working around horses has a few rules. Keep it quiet, keep tools where you can see them, and never block a gate.

For the everyday cars, we do engine repair, timing belt and chain jobs, computer diagnostics and electrical work. The heavy trucks get diesel repair, and roadside assistance is there if you break down. We work in Corona and Eastvale too.

Norco Up Close

Norco Neighborhood by Neighborhood

Norco is small, with 26,316 people at the 2020 census and 14.08 square miles, per Wikipedia. The city's trail page says Norco was incorporated to preserve an equestrian and animal keeping lifestyle. That plan still decides where cars park and what they pull.

Most of the city is one ZIP code, 92860. Two others touch it. Figures below come from City Data unless noted.

Norco ZIP codes at a glance

People are 2024 estimates for the whole ZIP, and Norco is only part of two of them.

ZIP codes that cover Norco and what City Data names in each
ZIPPeoplePlaces namedNotes

Sixth Street and the older blocks

Sixth Street hosts the Labor Day parade, according to Wikipedia. In 92860, 2,216 homes date from the 1970s, 1,108 from the 1960s and 911 from the 1950s, so this is an older city. Only 62 homes went up since 2020.

Older homes mean older trucks and cars in the driveway, with hoses, belts and wheel bearings that have seen years of dust. Tell us if the vehicle is parked off the street, since that makes a repair simpler. Our mobile mechanic visits cover those jobs at your home.

Norco Hills and Ridge Ranch

City Data lists Norco Hills (Norco Ridge Ranch) in both 92860 and 92505. Tell us which ZIP your mail uses, because the line between the two is easy to get wrong. Hidden Valley, below, sits on the 92505 side.

Hill lots can have gravel, slopes or gates. Tell us what the access looks like when you book, so we can plan a level and safe setup. Gate codes and the nearest cross street help us find you fast. Our Corona page covers the town next door.

Gateway and the Norco Auto Mall

City Data names the Gateway area and the Norco Auto Mall in 92860. The 15 bisects the city, per Wikipedia, so these areas sit close to the freeway.

Dealers and shops do major jobs on lifts. A mobile visit makes sense for the rest, like batteries, brakes, scans and fluids. If you plan to buy a used truck or trailer from a lot here, use our pre purchase inspection page first.

Navy base, prison and college workplaces

Wikipedia cites a 2025 city report with three big employers. The Naval Surface Warfare Center is the largest with 2,077 employees. California Rehabilitation Center has 1,034 and Norco College has 499. City Data lists the Naval Surface Warfare Center Corona Division inside 92860.

Staff and students commute to these sites every day. Parking lots at the base, the prison and the college are controlled, so book a visit at home or at a friend's driveway instead. Commuters who add miles on the 15 should ask for a brake and fluid check.

Hidden Valley and the river edge

Hidden Valley Wildlife Area is at 11401 Arlington Avenue, one mile west of La Sierra Avenue. The county says it covers 1,500 acres with 25 miles of hiking and equestrian trails, plus an 8 mile stretch of the Santa Ana River Trail. Day use hours run from 7 a.m. until half past four in the afternoon.

Riders who trailer horses to the park put real load on brakes and wheel bearings. Our guide on trailer brakes locking explains one common failure.

SilverLakes and the horse trail network

Norco has trademarked the "Horsetown USA" logo, and the city says its trail network lets riders reach commercial areas. The Riverside County Transportation Commission held a horse themed ground breaking for the 15 express lanes at the SilverLakes Sports Complex in 2017.

Heavier loads wear brakes and transmissions faster. Ask for a brake service check before riding season, and for trailer brakes, bearings and lights to be looked at too.

Roads that wear cars out in Norco

The 15 runs through the middle of the city. The RCTC project adds two express lanes each way for about 15 miles between the 60 and Cajalco Road, a $471 million job through Eastvale, Jurupa Valley, Norco and Corona. Work zones mean slow lines and heat on brakes.

Wikipedia lists Norco at 640 feet of elevation and gives a July average high of 92 degrees and a record of 117. Tow rigs run hot, so see our cooling system page.

Jacks, blocks and old trucks at home

Norco's abandoned vehicle chapter calls a vehicle inoperative if its engine, wheels or tires are missing or damaged. It also covers one left unattended on jacks, blocks or lifted in any other way that is a threat to public safety. The rule does not apply to a vehicle completely enclosed in a building where it is not visible from the street or neighbors. Vehicles in violation for more than thirty days can be cited.

The chapter targets neglected vehicles, not a repair that gets finished. A project truck that sits on blocks is the risk. The city released a draft of its 2050 General Plan Update on August 14, 2026, so check with the city if your plans are long. For smog, the Bureau of Automotive Repair exempts gas vehicles from 1975 and older and diesels from 1997 and older. Heavy diesels over 14,000 pounds are also exempt.

More Norco Questions

Can I leave my truck on jacks in my Norco yard?

Only for a short time. The city counts a vehicle left unattended on jacks or blocks as inoperative if it is a safety threat. If it stays more than thirty days it can be cited, unless it is fully enclosed and out of view.

Which ZIP code is Norco?

Most of the city is 92860. City Data also lists Norco Hills in 92505 and a small slice, 3 percent, of 91752. Check your mail address, since lines in the hills can be unclear.

Does my older Norco truck need a smog check?

It depends on age and fuel. Gas vehicles from 1975 and older are exempt, and so are diesels from 1997 and older. Diesels over 14,000 pounds are also exempt. Newer gas trucks need a check every other year.

Norco FAQ

Common Norco Questions

How far is Norco from your shop?

Norco is about 35 miles northwest of our San Jacinto shop. The drive takes around 45 minutes via Highway 60 and the 15. Most Norco jobs go to Raul or David.

Will you come to a property with horses and dirt access?

Yes. We service properties on dirt roads and equestrian properties all across Norco, including Silver Lakes. Tell us about gates, animals and anything else we need to know to get in, and we'll work around your routine.

Can you inspect my horse trailer or gooseneck?

Yes. We inspect bearings, brakes, lights, and tires on most light- and medium-duty horse trailers and goosenecks. We recommend a bearing service every two to three years for trailers in regular use.

My truck overheats pulling the horse trailer up the grade. What's wrong?

Most likely a tired water pump, a clogged radiator, or a transmission cooler that has lost capacity. Tow rigs reveal weak cooling systems faster than empty trucks. We can pressure test the system at your property and find the cause.

How often should I change my air filter living on a dirt-access property?

We recommend checking the engine air filter every 5,000 miles for Norco residents instead of the typical 15,000-mile interval. Cabin air filters every 10,000 miles. Dust kills filters fast, and we always check both during oil change visits.

Do you also serve Corona and Eastvale?

Yes. Both are immediately adjacent to Norco. Many Norco customers also have business or family connections in those neighboring cities, and we cover all of them.
